Chinese mobile app company Cheetah Mobile listed on the New York Stock Exchange in August 2014. In February 2017, Facebook suspended ads from China’s utility applications, including Cheetah, saying that they were deceptive. Cheetah was then targeted by short-seller Prescience Point in October 2017 alleging that Cheetah was misstating revenue, cash, customer growth and traffic figures. The allegations were not proven. However, in December 2018, Google removed some popular Cheetah apps after an investigation by BussFeedNews which accused Cheetah of advertising fraud. Since then, financial and share price performance have collapsed. The company is appealing Google's decision.
