Chinese IT company AsiaInfo-Linkage listed on the NASDAQ in 2000. In January 2012, the company announced that it had received a non-binding acquisition proposal. Ten months later, in November 2012, short-seller Spruce Point Capital published a report which questioned whether the deal would proceed and cast doubt on the integrity of AsiaInfo's financials. The deal was completed in January 2014, some two years after first being announced. The company re-listed in Hong Kong in December 2018. As such, the allegations remain unproven although here are lingering concerns about the fuctionality of AsiaInfo's VIE.
