US IT company Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) listed in the US in 1963. In November 2011, relatively minor accounting problems were initially flagged in CSC’s 2Q12 quarterly report in one of its divisions. However, these issues prompted a wider forensic investigation and then an SEC investigation was launched which delayed the filing of the year-end April 2011 annual report. When it was completed, the SEC’s investigation found that from 2009 to 2011, CSC engaged in a wide-ranging fraud that materially overstated its earnings and concealed significant problems with its largest contract, with the UK’s National Health Service.
