Chinese environmental protection and remediation company RINO listed in the US via a 2007 reverse merger. In November 2011, the company was attacked by short-seller Muddy Waters alleging that sales and profits had been largely fabricated and that management was embezzling funds. Just over a week later, the chairman admitted to its auditor that sales contracts had been fabricated. The SEC charged the company and its directors with fraud.
